As part of the first Fashion and Textiles brief, we learnt how to use the heat press.
1. Use the transfer inks on printer paper to paint out the design. – be aware that the image will turn out flipped, and test swatches are a good idea as the colour changes dramatically.
2. Turn on the heat press and wait for 160 seconds for it to get to the right temperature.
3. Making sure that the paper with the design and the fabric (polyester based) being printed onto is sandwiched between the two silicon sheets, used the lever to clamp down the heat press.
4. Wait for 90 seconds then remove from the press.
Overall I was quite happy with how my print came out, however despite doing test swatches, the teal background colour came out allot more green than I had intended.
